Citizens Bank's profit rises 77.77%, investors can expect 15% dividend

Citizens Bank has reported a net profit of Rs 39.96 crore for FY 2069/70, a 77.77% jump from last year. The bank’s operating profit rose 118.89% to Rs 58.11 crore.
Despite the profit surge, the Rs 27.91 crore provisioning is seen as a drag on the bank’s earnings.
The bank’s profit has increased helped by a robust growth in deposits. The deposits grew to Rs 2,27,24,618 from Rs 1,73,54,534 last year, a rise of 30.94%.
Likewise, the bank’s earnings per share increased to Rs 19.01 and its net worth to Rs 126.98.
In view of the vigorous growth in profits, investors say the bank may provide a dividend of up to 15%.
