Citizens Bank Extends CSR Support to Akhanda Jyoti Trust and Promotes Inclusive Digital Banking

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Citizens Bank International Limited has extended support to the Akhanda Jyoti Baba Swami Shreeji Charitable Trust, an organization dedicated to helping the underprivileged through services in health, education, religious preservation, and women's empowerment. The Trust also offers free meals to pilgrims and manages facilities such as a rest house and a girls’ Gurukul.
The support was handed over in a special ceremony by the bank’s CEO, Mr. Ganesh Raj Pokharel, who expressed satisfaction in contributing to the Trust’s selfless efforts. The bank emphasized its ongoing commitment to social, economic, cultural, and educational development through various CSR programs.
In addition to its CSR efforts, Citizens Bank was recently recognized with the international title “Bank of the Year 2024.” The bank also launched Nepal’s first-ever virtual credit card, “Citizens Fonepay Credit Card,” in partnership with Fonepay. It continues to enhance its digital services with features such as share application, CRN services, and Cross Bank Teller QR for easier cash withdrawals.
The bank currently serves over 1.9 million customers across 61 districts through 200 branches, 168 ATMs, and digital platforms. Its new product, the Citizens Digital Fixed Deposit (CDFD), offers a convenient, paperless way to save, with flexible interest payouts and no charges in the first year, making it ideal for tech-savvy and busy individuals seeking higher returns.
