Citizens Bank Enhances CSR and Digital Banking with New Shelter, Tree Plantation, and Virtual Credit Card Launch
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Citizens Bank International Limited's Beni branch constructed a passenger waiting shelter in Jamunakhark, Ward No. 6 of Beni Municipality, for Rs. 50,000. The bank also conducted a large-scale tree plantation program in Pokhara on Jestha 27, 2082 BS, planting over 100 species to combat climate change under the “Beat the Plastic” campaign. On World Environment Day 2025, a similar initiative was carried out in Pokhara’s Ward No. 15.
In recent achievements, the bank received the “Bank of the Year 2024” award and introduced Nepal’s first virtual credit card, “Citizens FonePay Credit Card.” The bank has also enhanced digital banking services, including share applications and CRN issuance through its app, and a cross-bank teller facility. Operating 200 branches and serving over 1.89 million customers nationwide, Citizens Bank continues to promote financial inclusion and customer convenience, guided by its motto “Your Partner for Progress.”
