CIAA Files Corruption Case Against Bheri Municipality Officials and Contractor

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has taken legal action against seven officials of Bheri Municipality, Jajarkot, and a construction company on charges of corruption related to a road project in the Mid-Western region.

In a statement, the CIAA said it filed the cases at the Special Court in Kathmandu, accusing the individuals of misappropriating Rs. 8.153 million during the construction of the Ranagaun–Neti Bazaar road section. The commission has also sought to recover an equivalent amount from those involved.

Among the accused are former officiating chief of Bheri Municipality, Dal Bahadur Gharti, several municipal officials, and representatives of Nirman Sewa Company, who are alleged to have been involved in financial irregularities during the project’s execution.
