Chinese and Pakistani Ambassadors Discuss Bilateral Cooperation with Nepal's Home Minister

On Wednesday, the Ambassador of China to Nepal, Chen Song, engaged in discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

The meeting centered on the imperative need for heightened cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the realm of security. Home Minister Lamichhane emphasized the significance of modernizing Nepal's immigration system, enhancing disaster management capabilities, fortifying border security measures, and bolstering efforts to promote trade and tourism. Moreover, Nepal eagerly anticipated the establishment of direct flight routes from Chinese cities to the international airports in Bhairahawa and Pokhara, with Ambassador Song affirming China's commitment to pursuing this objective diligently.

In another diplomatic encounter on the same day, Ambassador Abrar H Hashmi of Pakistan to Nepal held discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Lamichhane. Ambassador Hashmi underscored the importance of addressing pending agreements on crime control between Nepal and Pakistan, while also advocating for the deepening of bilateral relations at the grassroots level. Specifically, he proposed collaborative initiatives in sports, particularly cricket at the club level, to foster greater people-to-people ties.

During this exchange, Home Minister Lamichhane extended warm regards to the people of Pakistan, expressing optimism regarding the recently concluded elections in the country. He voiced confidence that these elections would play a pivotal role in establishing a stable government and fostering peace within Pakistan. This diplomatic engagement between Nepal, China, and Pakistan reflects the ongoing efforts to strengthen regional ties and enhance cooperation across various sectors for mutual benefit and prosperity.
