KATHMANDU, May 12 :

China Gezhouba Group -- the contractor of the Chameliya Hydropower Project (30 MW) -- has asked the government to release Rs 680 million to it as decided by the Dispute Resolution Board (DRB) in 2009. "The employer is not showing any commitment to address the issues," China Gezhouba Group said in a statement on Sunday.

"China Gezhouba cannot proceed with the works if the responsibility, obligation and liability under the contract are not fulfilled by the other party." Works on Chameliya Hydropower Project started in 2007. The company has claimed that 92 percent of the works of the project based in the far-western region have been completed so far.
