Chilime Hydropower Company profit remains stagnant in Q4; earns Rs 74.80 crore with EPS of Rs 13.10

Chilime Hydropower Company Limited (CHCL) has published the unaudited fourth-quarter report for FY 76/77. As per the report, the net profit of the company has risen by meager 0.25% to Rs 74.80 crore from Rs 74.62 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal year.
The company’s paid-up capital remains at Rs 5.70 arba. Similarly, the company has Rs 4.29 arba as retained earnings.
The investment in term deposits which were previously worth Rs 1.25 arba, has increased by almost 60.87% to Rs 2.01 arba by the end of the fourth quarter and the company has invested Rs 5.95 arba in its associate's companies.
The revenue from the sale of electricity declined by 2.54% and currently stands at Rs 1.14 arba. Due to the coronavirus outbreak and low electricity demand, NEA did not buy excess electricity produced by Chilime Hydropower resulting in low electricity sales amount compared to the last fiscal year.
The operating profits have fallen from Rs 83.36 crore to Rs 80.53 crore, marking a fall of 43.40%.
The company’s EPS stands at Rs 13.10 and net worth per share at Rs 175.24. The company quarter-end P/E ratio stands at 30.38 times for the end of the fourth quarter.
