Chaudhary Group to start retail chain

KATHMANDU, FEB 17: 

Chaudhary Group (CG) will soon launch its retail and supply chain, CG Mart.

The CG Mart – retail and distribution division of the group — will be the warmest and friendliest retailer and distributor of convenient and high quality brands in Nepal, said operational manager of CG Mart Dewas Yonjon. “It is all set to enter the retail sector with the introduction of its chain of supermarkets.”

“The process to begin operations started last year and it has initiated dealings with 30 stock keeping units and various brands, and has plans to increase the number of most-sought-after brands in the near future,” he said, adding that at present it is busy in setting up its own retail store, CG Mart’s convenience store which is a unique concept.

“CG Mart convenience store, which can be called a corner store or bodega, is a small store or shop where we will stock a range of everyday items such as groceries, toiletries, alcohols and soft drinks, and we will also offer money order and wire transfer services, and ATM facilities in the future,” said Yonjon.

CG Mart has plans to create Nepal’s first branded convenience store that serves in-store prepared food products with a dine-in corner for consumers, targeting middle class households in Kathmandu Metropolitan city. “Currently, we are very aggressive about introducing new retail brands and products in the market,” he added.
