Candy Crush creator to attend Ncell App camp
KATHMANDU, NOV 14 -
Tommy Karl Palm, the man behind the popular gaming app Candy Crush Saga and Games Guru of King.com is visiting Nepal to mentor and inspire 150 teams participating in the Ncell App Camp , the country’s biggest app challenge.
Palm will be a guest speaker at one of the capacity building seminars at the Ncell App Camp on November 15.
He will share his personal experiences and guide the contestants on themes like mobile app development, entrepreneurship, skills that the teams should hone for successful start-ups and business development.
“As the Ncell App Camp is aimed at unleashing the country’s digital potential and making Nepali youngsters part of the worldwide mobile application industry, mentorship by renowned personalities like Palm will provide the participants invaluable insights and exposure,” said Sanju Koirala, corporate communication director of Ncell.
Palm is considered to be one of the most inspiring personalities in the global mobile app industry and credited for the huge success of Candy Crush Saga that has recorded over 100 million downloads and daily revenues of $500,000.
He started programming games for the Commodore 64 back in 1986 as a hobby until he founded Jadestone AB in 1999.
Ever since then, he has been working as a concept creator and game designer on more than 20 game titles.
During the 12 years of developing mobile games, his team has won 10 awards and numerous nominations.
Tommy enjoys teaching in his spare time, writes articles and is a regular speaker at conferences.
He holds lectures at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and has been a member of the jury for IGF Mobile, Nokia Innovation Challenge and Swedish Game Awards.
