Cabinet approves govt's programs and policies
KATHMANDU, June 29: A cabinet meeting on Sunday approveed the programs and policies of government for the upcoming fiscal year before President Ram Baran Yadav presents it in the Legislature-Parliament this afternoon
The meeting held at Singh Durbar this morning under the chairmanship of acting Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Bam Dev Gautam approved the programs and policies.
Meanwhile, Acting Prime Minister Gautam is submitting the annual programmes before President Yadav shortly.
As Prime Minister Sushil Koirala is in the United States for medical treatment, Gautam convened the cabinet meeting with the consent of Koirala.
The programs and policies should be endorsed by parliament prior to the endorsement of the bill for advance budget through the House.
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav will unveil the programs and policies of government this afternoon. The CA building at New Baneshwar has been decorated for the special function.
The parliament secretariat has informed that all arrangements are in place for the Head of the State to unveil the programs and policies on behalf of the government soon after the parliament meeting begins at 3 PM.
Ailing Prime Minister Koirala is currently in New York for medical check-up. Koirala has been diagnosed with the lung cancer and it is in the first phase.
Talking to Republica on the phone from New York, Koirala´s personal physician Dr Karbir Nath Yogi told that the prime minister has been recommended for radiotherapy.
"Radiotherapy will be completed by July 9 and the treatment is underway," Yogi added. He further said that if things to go as planned, Prime Minister will return home within next two weeks.
