The deposits and lending details of commercial banks are out for the third week of Ashad 2077. Compared to last week's deposit and lending figures, deposits have increased by 22 arba while lending has remained the same. This shows that the deposits inflow is improving but banks haven't expanded the credit outflow.

As evident in the table below, banks have collected a significant amount of increasing deposits every week from the first week of last month. However, lending hasn't improved in all these weeks. As a matter of fact, commercial banks have lent far less capital on some weeks compared to the week before them.

Moreover, data shows that total lending during the third week of Asadh is far less than the amount lent on the first week of Jestha. Lending is at its lowest for the month of Jestha and Asadh as of now. This month, however, is yet to end.

While a small portion of deposits and lending have happened in foreign currencies, the majority has happened in the Nepalese rupee itself.
