KATHMANDU, July 9:

Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala has said the new budget, which his ministry is preparing, will be acceptable to the government that will be formed after the election.

Speaking at a training program organized by Society of Economic Journalists Nepal (SEJON) on Monday, Koirala said he would present just the income and expenditure for the next fiscal year and that there will be no programs that will drag him into controversy. “We are bringing full budget as the partial budget has cost our economy dear,” he said, adding, “The budge will be based on the third amendment to the Interim Constitution 2007. The government will focus on election after the budget is announced.”

SEJON chairman Pradip Chapagain, vice chairman Gokarna Awasthi and general secretary Bigyan Adhikari also spoke on the occasion.
