Buddha Air, Nepal’s leading private airline, is set to restart direct flights between Kathmandu and Kolkata from October 19.

The service will run three times a week—on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays—using a 72-seater ATR-72 aircraft. Flights will depart Kathmandu at 7:00 AM and return from Kolkata at 9:20 AM local time, with a travel time of around 1 hour 35 minutes.

Introductory fares start at Rs. 13,353 for a one-way ticket and can reach up to Rs. 31,200. Bookings are available online and through sales offices.

Buddha Holidays, the airline’s sister company, has launched travel packages to Jagannath Puri, Sundarbans, and Gangasagar, while also offering inbound packages for Indian tourists visiting Pokhara, Chitwan, and Lumbini.

Buddha Air had initially launched the Kolkata route in 2019 but discontinued it due to low demand. The relaunch is aimed at tapping into religious tourism and rising market interest. The airline currently operates three weekly flights on the Kathmandu–Varanasi route and plans further expansion to Indian destinations.
