Total Market Capitalization crosses Rs. 21 Kharba; NEPSE gains 14.71 points and also closes at long-time high

The NEPSE index gained 14.71 points (0.94%) today and closed at 1,585.75.

This is the highest close since the market declined after 1st March this year. NEPSE had begun its steep rise right from the start of the English year 2020. The highest point that NEPSE reached during this bullish Mania was 1,667.74 on March 01. The market had closed at 1,591.36 that day. Today's close at 1,585.75 is the highest close after that.

11,086,480 shares exchanged hands via 47,149 transactions. The trading of 195 scrips brought the total market turnover to Rs. 3.294 Arba.

More importantly, NEPSE broke its own all-time high record of market capitalization.

Market capitalization is the total market value of the listed companies in the stock exchange. It is computed by multiplying the market price (LTP-Last Traded Price) to the total number of outstanding shares.

The previous market capitalization high was Rs. 20.9 Kharba of September 17, 2020. NEPSE had closed at 1,572.18 that day. With a new market cap of Rs. 21.12 Kharba, NEPSE now has a new record for the highest total market capitalization in all of history.

The Float index gained 0.94 points and closed at 110.18 while the Sensitive index is at 312.35 after gaining 2.19 points.

Shivam Cements Limited (SHIVM) had the highest individual scrip turnover of Rs. 26.86 crores. It also gained a massive 9.5% today.

Meanwhile, the shares of Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company Limited (HDHPC) traded the most.

Corporate Development Bank Limited (CORBL) gained the most 9.84% and closed at Rs. 201 per share. It is tailed by Shivam Cements that gained 9.5%.

On the other hand, Union Hydropower Company Limited (UNHPL) lost the most 9.84%.

Hydropower and Mutual Fund are the only sectors that lost today, with Mutual Funds losing the most 3.21%. Among all other sectors which gained, Manufacturing and Products gained the most 4.78%.
