Breaking the all-time high market capitalization record, NEPSE gains a massive 30.78 points and closes at 1,572.18

NEPSE closed today at 1,572.18 after gaining an impressive 30.78 points (2%). The turnover of Rs. 3.72 Arba is also equally impressive, brought about by 13,216,234 traded shares in 53,240 transactions.

Overall 31.48 points volatility was witnessed in the market hours today, with the highest point being 1,578.16 and 1,578.16. Thus, even the intraday low is higher than yesterday's close of 1,541.40.

More importantly, NEPSE broke its own all-time high record of market capitalization.

Market capitalization is the total market value of the listed companies in the stock exchange. It is computed by multiplying the market price (LTP-Last Traded Price) to the total number of outstanding shares.

The previous market capitalization high was Rs. 20.83 Kharba of February 27, 2020. NEPSE had closed at 1,632.17 that day. With a new market cap of Rs. 20.9 Kharba, NEPSE has the highest total market capitalization today in all of history.

The float index gained 2.37 points and closed at 108.82 while the Sensitive index is at 312.50 after gaining 7.02 points.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the highest turnover of Rs. 14.98 crores. The shares of the Siddhartha Equity Fund (SEF) traded the most.

Interestingly, 41 companies hit a 10% positive circuit today (technically). Most of the gainers are hydropower companies. The hydropower sector has witnessed immense optimism from investors for a few days now.

Meanwhile, NRN Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NLBSL) lost the most 6.73%.

Only the Non-Life Insurance sector lost a minimal 0.01% today while all others gained. Hotels gained the most 9.37%.
