ShareSansar, February 5:

Butwal Power Company Limited has announced book closure from today for its Annual General Meeting slated for February 23 as well as for its 3:2 rights shares which it approved three years ago.

The 21st AGM of BPC is due to endorse 18 percent cash dividend to its shareholders from the net profit the power developer posted in the last fiscal year 2069/70.

BPC had posted a net profit of Rs.28.64 crore in the last fiscal year of 2069/70.

Insofar as the rights issue is concerned, the process was delayed because of the uncertainties stemming from the dispute between the company and the government over the nature of investment.

BPC has, meanwhile, clarified that only those shareholders who hold the shares of the company a day before the book closure date, i.e. by February 4, would be eligible for the rights shares.
