Both Houses of Federal Parliament to Convene Today; Economic Survey and Multiple Bills on Agenda

Both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly of Nepal’s Federal Parliament are scheduled to convene today. The House of Representatives will meet at 11:00 AM, while the National Assembly session is set for 1:15 PM.
The previous House meeting was adjourned on Tuesday without proceeding with the scheduled agenda due to protests from opposition parties.
For today’s session, the Federal Parliament Secretariat has outlined several key items. Ramhari Khatiwada, Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, is scheduled to present the committee’s report on the Federal Civil Service Bill, 2080.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will table the Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2081/82 in both houses. Additionally, a proposal will be presented in the House of Representatives to conduct a clause-wise discussion and pass the Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Land, 2082.
Similarly, Kusum Devi Thapa, Chairperson of the Agriculture, Cooperative, and Natural Resources Committee, will present the committee’s Annual Report for 2082.
The session will also include oral question-and-answer sessions with ministers from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Health and Population.
In the National Assembly, besides the presentation of the Economic Survey, Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ajaya Kumar Chaurasiya will propose that the Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts, 2080, received with a message from the House of Representatives, be forwarded to the Legislative Management Committee for clause-wise discussion.
Ministers will also respond to oral questions related to the Ministries of Urban Development, Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation; Health and Population; and Forest and Environment.
