BOK special general meeting today; no Adukia favorites on BoD

Bank of Kathmandu is set to hold its special general meeting today at Nepal Pragya Pratishthan in Kamaladi, Kathmandu.


The meeting is expected to give its approval to the members of the board of directors who have been selected unanimously.


BoD members representing promoters and the general shareholders have already been picked.


The three directors from promoters side who were selected unopposed are Satya Narayan Manandhar, Ramesh Dhungel and Santa Bar Singh Thapa. Likewise, the four directors chosen by public shareholders are Balram Neupane, Govinda Sharema, Chok Narayan Shrestha and Hem Subedi.


Current Chairman Narendra Kumar Basnyet, who is backed by one time big investor Rakesh Adukia, will lose his post after today’s special meeting. Another director backed by Adukia, Bishnu Prasad Banjade had left the BoD long time back.


The new BOD chairman will be elected after the completion of the special meeting.
