BoK, Samriddha Padad join hands

KATHMANDU, AUG 16 -
Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) has signed “Guarantee Investment Plan” agreement with Samriddha Pahad (SP) with an aim providing financial access to the people of remote districts.
The plan will be implemented in three remote districts of Achham, Bajura and Taplejung. SP is a non government organisation working in the field of livelihood issues in remote areas and it will facilitate the access of finance to the people, according to a press release of BoK.
SP CEO Arun Rana BoK CEO Ajay Shrestha signed the agreement.
Shrestha said BoK’s priorities lie in catering to the financially underserved areas and that the partnership with SP will go a long way. With this, the bank has made significant efforts to increase financial access to remote communities. Rana said that most mountain districts of Nepal are hard-hit in terms of financial access so SP plans to reach specifically those areas.
