BOK, Nimbus joins hands for farmers’ easy access to credit card facilities

ShareSansar, August 25: Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) and Nimbus have signed an agreement to launch ‘BOK Kissan Credit Card Scheme’ to ensure small scale farmers convenient access to credit card facilities.
According to the press statement of the bank, this facility will also help the farmers to purchase various agricultural inputs at Nimbus Krishi Kendra.
CEO of BOK, Ajay Shrestha, and Anand Bagaria, MD of Nimbus, signed the agreement on Sunday amid a ceremony.
According to the bank, the service will be available at NIMBUS Krishi Kendra, Kalimati to start with and will be rolled out gradually and be available through 200 plus such outlets planned to be opened across the country.
“Serving individual farmers through customized products and services have been one of the areas that the Bank has been focusing since last few years. This credit card facility, one of its kind in our country, will facilitate farmers for their regular purchases of agricultural inputs like seeds, fertilizers etc.” the statement quoted Shrestha, CEO of BOK, as saying.
“Besides, the revolving nature of the credit facility, the service will be made available by using modern card based technology which can possibly be a cornerstone for improving access to finance in agriculture sector.” he added.
“We want to increase the reach of farmers to Banking and this joint initiative with BoK is the first step towards that goal” said Anand Bagaria of NIMBUS.
