Bhattarai meets Obama‚ Ban

Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Wednesday held meetings with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and US President Barack Obama in New York. Ban and the PM dwelt on the progress being made in Nepal’s ongoing peace and constitution-drafting processes, according to a statement issued by Nepal’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York. Responding to Ban’s query, PM Bhattarai said he had been trying his best to move forward by forging consensus among political parties. A separate press note issued by Bhattarai’s personal aide Bishwodip Pandey said the prime minister held brief talks with Obama on country’s peace process during a reception hosted by Obama.
