Basudev Golyan Becomes First Nepali Rotary International Director

Basudev Golyan, Vice Chairman of the Golyan Group, has been elected as a Director of Rotary International for Zones 5 and 6 for the 2027–2029 term, becoming the first Nepali to hold the position.

He secured 981 votes out of 1,755 in the election, defeating multiple candidates from India. A special felicitation program was organized in Nepal to honor his achievement, attended by national and international Rotary leaders.

Golyan expressed commitment to serving with integrity, expanding Rotary’s impact, and focusing on membership growth and increased participation in the Rotary Foundation, emphasizing service to underserved communities.
