The Theule Khola Hydropower Project, operated by Barahi Hydropower Public Limited (BHPL), has suffered extensive damage due to a devastating flood, resulting in the cessation of electricity production and prompting immediate reconstruction efforts.

Continuous rainfall over the past 3-4 days led to a landslide around 1:40 PM on 22nd Ashad 2081 BS, approximately 200 meters above the right side of the Theule Khola Hydropower Project (1.5 MW) at Kushmishera, Jaimini Municipality, Baglung District. The landslide has damaged the structure between the Intake and the Gravel Trap, obstructing the waterway to the powerhouse. Consequently, electricity production has been completely halted since the 22nd Ashad.

The ongoing rainfall has made it difficult to clear the landslide, but a team has already been deployed to address the situation.
