Banks add Rs 13 arba in deposits, disburse only Rs 2 arba

Deposits at commercial banks have increased by Rs 13 arba in the second week of Shrawan.

On Shrawan 11, deposits were at Rs 10 kharba 1 arba, but one week later, on Shrawan 18, deposits rose to Rs 10 Kharba 14 arba.

Between Asar end and Shrawan 11, banks had seen a decline of Rs 16 arba. But the collection of deposits began to pick up during the second week of Shrawan.

Compared to deposits, lending increased only slightly. Last week, though Rs 13 arba were added to the coffers of the commercial banks, they disbursed loans of only Rs 2 arba.
