BANKING AND OTHERS PLUNGE NEPSE

Despite the improvement in most of the sub-groups today, the lost in the Others and Banking sectors outweighed the gain to make the Nepse index tumble by 0.26 points. Thought the increase in most of the sectors helped the benchmark index to bounce from the 495 levels to the level of 496, the fall in Others sector mainly pulled the market index down to the today ‘s closing level of 495.54.
Banking and Others were the only two sectors with a loss of 0.14 and 3.53 points respectively. While, Insurance made the highest gain of 4.02 points. Similarly, Hotels and Hydro followed with gain of 1.12 and 1.67 points respectively. Likewise, Development made an incline of 0.89 points and Finance soared by 0.18 points. In other news, the dividend previously proposed by Agriculture Development Bank Ltd. , as per direction of NRB, has been cancelled.
Overall there were trades of 81 scrips among which 32 scrips increased 20 remained intact and 29 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, Kasthamandap Development Bank Ltd. (KDBL), closed at Rs 80, with Rs 5 or 6.67% gain. Whereas, NB Insurance Co. Ltd. (NBIL), closed at Rs 77, was the worst performer with Rs 8 or 9.41% loss. Among shares trading above par, Nepal Express Finance Limited (NDFL), closed at Rs 106, topped with Rs 6 or 6% gain. Whereas, Everest Insurance Co. Ltd. (EIC), closed at Rs 318, was the top loser with Rs 18 or 5.36% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1), closed at Rs 10.34, topped with 61,729 units. In case of ordinary scrips, International Leasing And Fin. Co. (ILFC), closed at Rs 122, topped with 24,657 units.
In terms of turnover, Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), closed at Rs 1540, topped with 8,920 units worth Rs 13,634,949 via 20 transactions. The most active Broker with the highest stand-alone dealing of EBL was Broker no 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 76.99%, tallying 13,756 units worth Rs 20,995,570
Via 15 transactions which include 2 matching transactions totaling 6,050 units worth Rs 9,227,000
Altogether there were trade of 222,739 units of share via 1,046 transactions worth Rs 56,301,752; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 490,980.61 Millions.
