Bank of Kathmandu profits posted minimal decline in the first quarter; slow growth in deposits and loans

Bank of Kathmandu Limited (BOKL) has reported a slight fall in the net profit for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2076/77, as per the quarterly report published today.

The bank’s profit has decreased from Rs.38.68 Crore in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2075/76 to Rs.38.37 Crore in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2076/77. In the first quarter of the FY 2076/77, the bank had Rs.18.76 Crore as Free Profit after Regulatory Adjustments which can be utilized in distributing dividends to its shareholders.

The bank’s deposit has growth rate of 3.70% to Rs.85.77 Arba and loans and advances have also increased by 2.85% to Rs.72.48 Arba in the first quarter.

The net interest income of the bank has increased to Rs.97.73 Crore from Rs.87.79 Crore of the corresponding quarter.

The bank’s paid up capital stands at Rs.8.06 Arba with Rs.4.44 Arba as its reserve as of the end of Q1 of FY 2076/77. The Non-Performing Loan (NPL) has increased to 1.73% from 1.61%.

In the first quarter, the annualized EPS of the bank stands at Rs.19.04. The net worth per share stands at Rs.172.75 and annualized PE ratio stands at 11.92 times.
