Bandipur in Kathmandu: Showcasing the Queen of the Hills for Visit Year 2025
Bandipur, famously known as the "Queen of the Hills," was promoted as a prime tourist destination through the "Bandipur in Kathmandu" event, inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel as part of Bandipur Visit Year 2025.
Organized by the Regional Hotel Association Tanahun (Bandipur Unit) with support from Bandipur Rural Municipality and the Nepal Tourism Board, Gandaki Province, the event gathered tourism experts, entrepreneurs, local leaders, and social workers.
Minister Poudel emphasized preserving Bandipur’s traditional settlement and historical heritage to maintain its true charm, noting its potential to boost the national economy.
Event coordinator Aashutosh Pradhan presented strategies focusing on infrastructure, sustainable tourism, environmental conservation, and global promotion over the next 20 years.
Awards were presented to contributors in tourism, health, and education, while local and tourism board officials pledged infrastructural improvements and promotional support.
Located at an altitude of 1,030 meters, Bandipur attracts visitors with its Newar heritage, narrow alleys, cultural assets, mountain views, caves, festivals, and trekking routes, drawing increasing domestic and international tourists.
