Bagmati Province Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya Resigns

Indra Bahadur Baniya, the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, announced his resignation from the position.

Addressing the beginning of today's meeting at the Bagmati Provincial Assembly, Baniya shared that he stepped down to pave the way for the formation of a new government in light of recent political developments.

He stated that he would formally submit his resignation letter to the Provincial Head shortly. During his address, Baniya highlighted key achievements from his term in office, including reducing the province’s running costs by capping the number of ministries at eight. He also highlighted public welfare initiatives such as constructing housing for poor families, rebuilding damaged infrastructure, and making the transport sector digital and modern.
