Auto enthusiasts throng NADA Auto Show

KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Enthusiasts of automobiles and automobile industry of the country have been thronging the auto show being held in the capital.

Organized by Nepal Automobile Dealers´ Association (NADA), the six-day long country´s premier automobile event -- NADA Auto Show 2014 -- has received more than 40,000 visitors until the fourth day.

Organizers said the event has been receiving serious visitors regardless of any age, who are willing to purchase vehicles, know latest development in automobile industry, get information on new models and acquire technical knowledge on vehicles.

“Coming to the ninth edition of the show, we have noted that a number of customers await the auto show in a bid to purchase new vehicles or get information about them,” Shambhu Parsad Dahal, coordinator of the auto show told Republica, adding “The number of visitors has been increasing each day.”

According to Dahal, the first, second, third and fourth day of the auto show received 7,000, 8,000, 10,000 and 13,000 visitors espectively. Dahal said participation in the expo was significant on Saturday.

Dahal also attributed the increasing footfall at the expo to internal management of the expo. “This year, we basically focused on the internal management in the expo to facilitate the customers,” said Dahal adding “It is the proper internal management of the expo this year that a large number of visitors have been encouraged to visit the expo.”

NADA has allotted separate section for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, commercial vehicles, financial institutions, lubricant companies, spare parts companies and others in the expo easing the visitors.

Meanwhile, Dahal also opined that number of new models launched by various dealers has also grabbed attention of the people. “This year dealers have launched more than a dozen models of two-wheelers and four-wheelers at the expo along with lucrative offers,” said Dahal.

Rohan Shrestha of Kalanki who was spotted visiting different stalls of two-wheelers at the expo said, “I was waiting for the expo to get knowledge of different new models to be launched. If I´m convinced with the price and features, I shall purchase one of them.”

The auto exhibition which began on last Wednesday has 100 stalls of financial institutions, online marketing companies, spare parts companies, lubricants, tyres, generators, garage equipments and batteries companies among others. According to NADA, the exhibition has participation of 53 exhibitors of local and international brands showcasing their products and services. The event aims at drawing at least 50,000 visitors and making a transaction of Rs 1 billion.
