As Interest Rates Go Up, Bear Thrash NEPSE Index Back Down 2.88%

The NEPSE index closed at 1,924.48 today after losing 57 points from last trading day. This is a loss of 2.88%. The index had gained 47.44 points yesterday.

The index opened at 1,983.26 and went intraday high at 1,989.84. Then the index made intraday low at 1,920.38 and ultimately closed at 1,924.48.

232 scrips traded hands via 35,537 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 6,940,596 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 2.125 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than last trading day's turnover of Rs. 1.453 Arba.

Laxmi Bank Limited (LBL) shares traded the most and had the highest turnover of Rs. 21.5 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 194.8 per share.

CITIZENS MUTUAL FUND 2 (CMF2) gained the highest 4.12% for the day.

On the other side of things, NIC Asia Flexi CAP Fund (NICFC) lost the highest 8% today.

All sector indices closed red, "Finance" lost the highest 5.24% while "Banking" lost the least 1.82%.
