The NEPSE index closed at 1,520.69, gaining 12.49 points in a confusing trading day today. Because of some technical issues in the TMS, NEPSE was halted for quite some time. To make up for this loss of time, the market was closed only at 5 pm.

Overall 19.95 points volatility was observed during market hours today, with the highest point being 1,532.48 and the lowest being 1,512.53.

4,329,665 shares traded hands to produce a turnover of Rs. 2.20 Arba. This is lower than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 2.56 Arba. 189 scrips were traded via 29,996 transactions.

The float index gained 0.76 points and closed at 104.83 while the Sensitive index is at 301.38 after gaining 1.71 points.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the highest turnover Rs. 17.42 crores, and closed at Rs. 895 per share. Yesterday, it had a turnover of Rs. 22.31 crores. Its shares also traded the most today.

Four companies hit a positive circuit today (technically). They are Rastriya Beema Company Limited (RBCL), Rastriya Beema Company Limited Promoter Shares (RBCLPO), Reliance Life Insurance Limited (RLI), and NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN).

Interestingly, after an impressive uptrend, NRN had been losing the most for a few days till today. Its sudden rise to 10% gain is likely the result of intense swing trading.

Meanwhile, Nabil Equity Fund (NEF) lost the most 5.64%.

Three sectors lost today while 9 others ended green. Trading lost the most 2.84% and Non-Life Insurance gained the most 3.9%.
