ADB help sought
KATHMANDU:
Finance secretary Shanta Raj Subedi has requested executive director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Jérôme Destombes to lobby for endorsement of a strategy on extension of support to Nepal for the next five years. Subedi made the request during a meeting held today in Kathmandu. “The Nepal government has already passed the strategy. We hope you will assist us in getting the proposal endorsed from ADB’s board of directors,” Subedi said. He also said that Nepal expected further assistance from Asian Development Bank for the development of infrastructure, drinking water facilities and sectors such as energy, agriculture, transport and education.
