Aayush Kunwar Sets New Standards: Breaks Decades-Old Record in American Athletics

Aayush Kunwar, a Nepali athletics runner sponsored by Shivam Cement, has achieved a remarkable feat by breaking a 23-year-old national record in America.

Competing in the 60m indoor race at the Whitworth Indoor Track and Field Invite in Spokane, Washington, Aayush surpassed the previous record of 7.09 seconds, set in 2001, with an impressive time of 7.02 seconds. This event, sanctioned by World Athletics on February 9 and 10, saw Aayush not only equaling the existing record in the qualifier round but also establishing a new national record in the subsequent round.

Trained at the City Speed SF Club in America, Aayush expressed his joy at breaking the decades-old record and also set a new record in the 200m indoor race, clocking 22.79 seconds and breaking the 7-year-old record. Aayush Kunwar's achievements reflect his dedication to setting and achieving ambitious goals in athletics.
