A summary of the stock market growth in FY 2070/71

The benchmark index of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited, the only stock market of the country, doubled in the last fiscal year 2070/71, owing to a number of encouraging developments such as the victory of pro-market parties in the last Constituent Assembly elections, timely budgets as well as surplus liquidity in the capital market. Table 1 below tracks the benchmark index as well as other important sub indices over the past five years.
