8.5 MW Hydropower Project of Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company Halted Due to Flood

The 8.5 MW run-of-river Hewa Khola Hydropower Project of Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company Limited (UHEWA) has been damaged due to the flood.
Last night at 9:15 PM, energy production has been halted due to damage to the Hewa Khola Hydropower Project's (8.5 MW) powerhouse caused by the flood. However, the detailed information is yet to come.
Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company Limited (UHHCL) is a public company, incorporated on March 13, 2012, as Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Pvt. Ltd. Later on, it converted to a public company on June 6, 2018. It is promoted by institutional as well as individual promoters from different backgrounds for setting up an 8.5 MW run-of-river Upper Hewakhola Small Hydropower Project under the BOOT (Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer) model located in the Sankhuwasabha district of Nepal.
