7th Loktantra Day being marked
KATHMANDU, APR 24 -
Seventh anniversary of the historic People's Movement-II- Loktantra Day - is being marked all over the country on Wednesday.
Though no official programmes have been organised by the government today, political parties, various organisations have been marking the day amid special functions.
This was the very day when the then nation head, former King Gyanendra Shah, ceded power to the people bowing down to the intense pressure that the April uprising had piled up on his authoritarian regime.
Despite much wait for the new statute the hope for the new constitution looks bleak at the present with the deepening inter-party rift.
