The major infrastructure construction and technology installing procedure for the 456 MW Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project have been completed. Minister Basanta Kumar Nembang and Minister Parbat Gurung inaugurated the project by channeling water to the Waterways.
The Wet Test is now going on for the civil infrastructure and hydromechanical technology. The wet test and inspection of the Main Shut-Off Valve (MSOV) and Main Inlet Valves (MIVs), which was a very critical procedure, has been completed. Although it was delayed by 5 days, the procedure is now complete.
The inspection of the Lower Penstock Shaft has also been completed. The inspection reported leakage in one of the Manholes. Thus, the rectification procedure has been carried out for all the Manholes, since compromise in this part might mean disaster for the entire project.
The minutest of issues have to be dealt with at the very instant before proceeding. The company has employed 24 hours inspection and testing. Given that further technical issues are not found and the pandemic does not affect the staff and workers, the company plans to complete the inspection and wet test within 7 to 8 days from the day the inspection is resumed.
