38.77% of Investors Trade Online; More than 80% Investors Haven't Entered Secondary Market Yet

NEPSE has unveiled the brokers' client details up to March 19, 2021.
The data shows a huge surge in the number of active investors and users of the online trading system. Data shows that there are a total of 6,27,662 active clients in all the broker offices combined.
Out of all the total 50 licensed broker companies, Naasa Securities Co. Ltd. has the most 33,921 active clients. Meanwhile, Sagarmatha Securities Private Limited has the least 4,148 active clients.
Naasa Securities Co. Ltd. comes first in the number of clients using the online trading platform as of March 19, with 23,642 active online users. Its online client count is 48,413.
All in all, the broker companies seem to have increased their client profile impressively in a short span.
When we look at the overall data, we see that 38.77% of the active clients from all the broker companies use the online platform actively. According to the official website of CDS and Clearing Limited, there are a total of 32,26,111 citizens in Nepal who have a Demat account. If all these investors become active investors one day or another, the volume of participation that we'll see in the secondary market is unimaginable.
