3 PERCENT CIRCUIT BREAKER; NEPSE AT FOUR MONTHS HIGH

Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) today astounded the investor with its upbeat performance. Carrying along with its stunning bullish run, the security market was suspended for 15 minutes after breaching the 3% circuit breaker in the first hour of trade.

Last time, the market observed circuit breaker was on 17th Feb, 2013 to 5% breach.

The speculation of investors regarding the implementation of financial institutions’ capital increment policy in the monetary policy of 2070/71, kept the market with high demand of banking scrips.

The high order in the banking scrips helped create a positive vibe attributing to the overall positive atmosphere in the market today.

By the end of the day, the benchmark index propelled by 14.19 points to close at four months high of 535.72 levels.  Last time, the market traded near this level was on 17th March, 2013.

Similarly, Insurance and Hydro both made an astounding surge of 36.38 and 35.42 points respectively.Likewise, Banking sector also rocketed up by a hefty 18.55 points.

While,  Manufacturing and Others advance by 5.45 and 4.7 points respectively. As for Development and Finance, both gained 2.7 and 2.43 points respectively.

All in all, the scrips of 87 companies were traded, out of which 75 scrips gained, 4 remained intact and 8 scrips lost.

The best performer for the day was, NLG Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLG), closed at Rs 332, was the top gainer with Rs 30 or 9.93% gain.

Whereas, Grand Bank Ltd. Promoter share (GRANDP), closed at Rs 101, was the top loser with Rs 8 or 67.34% loss. Among the shares trading above par, Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at Rs 155, was the top loser with Rs 10 or 6.06% loss.

In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1), closed at Rs 10.24, topped with 96,604 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Nepal Credit And Com. Bank NCCB), closed at Rs 228, topped with 40,260 units.

In terms of turnover, Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at Rs 1325, topped with 17,185 units worth Rs 22,721,290 via 94 transactions. The broker with the highest standalone dealing of CHCL  was Broker No 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) with 25.68%; amounting Rs 11,673,226 via 24 transactions totaling 8,874 units which includes 4 matching transactions tallying 1,281 units worth Rs 1,659,765.

Overall, 533,233 units of share were traded by 1,617 transactions worth Rs 176,528,862; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 532,639.62 million.
