27th Flora Expo in Kathmandu Attracts 60,000 Visitors, Generates Rs 12.2 Million in Business

The 27th Flora Expo, organized by the Floriculture Association of Nepal at Bhrikutimandap, concluded successfully on Sunday, attracting over 60,000 visitors and generating business worth Rs 12.2 million. The four-day event promoted the theme “Floriculture for Clean Environment, Employment and Economic Prosperity” and featured 65 commercial, 11 official, and 2 competitive stalls.

Floriculture in Nepal currently covers around 270 hectares across 52 districts, employing more than 53,500 people directly or indirectly, with total sector investment exceeding Rs 8.8 billion. The expo highlighted policy challenges in imported flowers and emphasized the need for domestic production. The event was inaugurated by Bagmati Province’s Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Madhusudan Paudel, who expressed full support for the growth of the floriculture industry.
