The 22.1 MW run-of-river Lower Hewa Khola Hydropower Project of Mountain Hydro Nepal Limited (MHNL) has been halted due to the flood and landslide.

The energy production has been put on hold due to damage in intake to the powerhouse of the Lower Hewa Khola Hydropower Project (22.1 MW) caused by the flood and landslide.

The trading price of the company has fallen to Rs. 230.40 which was hovering around Rs. 290 last month due to natural calamities impacting the hydropower sector. The company is operating a 22.1MW Lower Hewa Khola HPP in Panchthar District, Province 1 of Nepal. The project was commissioned on August 6, 2019, i.e., within six months of its required COD of May 7, 2019, due to which the project is eligible for all tariff escalations.
