12th Nat'l Industrial Trade Fair from today

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: With an aim to promote Nepali products, the 12th National Industrial Trade Fair and Cottage Industry Festival is scheduled to be held here, from February 6 to 10 with the slogan ‘Use Nepali products, feel proud to be a Nepali’.

Organised by Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries (FNCSI) in association with Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC), the event will focus on renewable energy for green industrial development. There will be 125 stalls related to renewable and alternative energy, 32 stalls by women entrepreneurs, 25 pavilion stalls of micro industries, 12 stalls of sustainable and green industrial development, eight stalls showcasing leather products, and 98 other stalls showcasing different industrial products.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi.

Speaking at a press conference today, president of FNCSI Suresh Pradhan said, “Nepali products will be the major highlight of the exhibition, which we hope will help boost small and cottage industries of the country.” He further added, “We are expecting around 150,000 individuals from various walks of life to visit the trade fair.”

Similarly, the Renewable Energy Week will also be observed till February 11, which will include photo competition, interactions, exhibition of energy resources and awareness programmes to be organised in all 75 districts of Nepal.

Talking to journalists, executive director of AEPC Prof Dr Govinda Raj Pokhrel informed that through the trade fair they hoped to generate awareness about renewable resources, and attract investors to empower cottage and small industries, among others.
