119 applications received for entrepreneurship award

KATHMANDU, Jan 24:

ChangeFusion Nepal said on Thursday that it had received 119 applications for the Third Annual Surya Nepal Asha Social Entrepreneurship Award (SNASEA) from sectors ranging from agriculture and agro-based products to healthcare, education, energy and IT, among others.

The SNASEA, organized by ChangeFusion Nepal with Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd as the main sponsor, aims to ‘identify inspire, reward and support social entrepreneurs’, ChangeFusion said in a statement Thursday.

After a first round of screening by the social enterprise experts, a second round of jury will further evaluate the shortlisted candidates to choose the winners. “Reality tests will then be carried out for the Top 10 social ventures/entrepreneurs where the evaluating
team will visit each venture,” the statement reads.

The final awards ceremony will be held on March 28 to award the outstanding social entrepreneurs/ enterprises for their achievements and success in creating values for the people and planet through profit, the statement added.
