11 power projects fail to get production licenses
KATHMANDU:
Eleven power projects that applied for power production licenses have failed to get the ones.
The government has rejected applications of the hydro power projects saying they failed to have necessary eligibility for the production and failed to start the construction in time.
According to Gokarna Raj Panta, Information Officer at the Electricity Development Department, the government has rejected the applications of the Kali Gandaki Gorge 164 MW, Upper Trishuli-1 216 MW, Nyasim Khola 30 MW, Middle Supper Daraudi 4.48 MW, Hewa Khola 2.3, Lower Pame Khola 2.20 MW, Upper Mai 'A' 2 MW, and Dapcha Roshi 5 MW, among other hydropower projects.
Information Officer Panta said the government rejected the applications as they had not carried out any task of construction though they applied for the production license.
Similarly, the Department also scrapped the licenses of different other projects 51 MW capacity for they were failed to carry out construction works in time.
