Weather Update: Monsoon Affects Eastern and Central Regions, Rain Expected Today

Currently, the monsoon system is only affecting the eastern and central parts of the country, while the remaining areas are experiencing local winds and westerly winds.
As per the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Water and Meteorology, the weather in the hilly regions of the country is generally clear, while the rest of the country is partly cloudy.
During this afternoon, the hilly areas, including Koshi province, are expected to be partly cloudy to normal.
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in some other hilly areas. Additionally, one or two places in the terai region of Koshi may also experience rainfall.
The department has noted that the temperature will remain unchanged in the terai areas of the region since the western and far western areas are not yet experiencing the immediate effects of the monsoon.
The division has further advised that light rain with thunder and lightning may occur in certain locations of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as a few places in the remaining hilly areas, including the Madhesh province.
