U.S. Dollar Hits Record High as Nepal Rastra Bank Publishes Foreign Exchange Rates for Friday

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has released the official foreign exchange rates for today, Friday, marking a significant milestone in the value of the U.S. dollar. According to the central bank, the American currency has surged to its highest recorded level in Nepal, while other major currencies, including the Euro, Pound Sterling, and Australian Dollar,
According to the updated data published by NRB, the buying rate for one U.S. dollar is Rs. 139.86, and the selling rate is Rs. 140.46. This represents a considerable increase from Thursday’s rate, when the buying and selling rates were Rs. 139.58 and Rs. 140.18, respectively.
This surge brings the dollar back to the record high last observed on Magh 25, when the buying rate was Rs. 139.83 and the selling rate Rs. 140.43. After a period of fluctuation and relative decline, today’s data reaffirms the strengthening of the dollar in Nepal’s foreign exchange market. have witnessed a decrease in value.
While the U.S. dollar continues to appreciate, other foreign currencies have seen a marginal decline. The Euro now trades at a buying rate of Rs. 159.99 and a selling rate of Rs. 160.68, down from Thursday’s Rs. 160.94 and Rs. 161.63, respectively.
Similarly, the British Pound Sterling experienced a drop. The current buying rate stands at Rs. 184.99, with a selling rate of Rs. 185.78. This is lower than Thursday's rates of Rs. 186.49 for buying and Rs. 187.23 for selling. The Australian Dollar has also depreciated. Today’s buying rate is Rs. 90.10, and the selling rate is Rs. 90.49, compared to yesterday’s Rs. 90.58 and Rs. 90.97.
Among Middle Eastern currencies, the Kuwaiti Dinar saw a slight increase, with a buying rate of Rs. 457.18 and a selling rate of Rs. 459.14, up from Thursday’s Rs. 456.95 and Rs. 458.91. The Bahraini Dinar also strengthened slightly. The buying rate is now Rs. 370.98, and the selling rate is Rs. 372.57, compared to Thursday’s Rs. 370.24 and Rs. 371.83.
