NOC Reroutes Fuel Supplies to Kathmandu via Tribhuvan Highway
Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has rerouted petroleum and cooking gas shipments to the Kathmandu Valley via the Tribhuvan Highway following a major road collapse on the Prithvi Highway at Krishnabhir caused by Trishuli River erosion.
To prevent shortages, NOC brought roughly 24,500 gas cylinders into the valley on Bhadra 18 and another 34,134 on Bhadra 19 from southern plants. Gas companies have been ordered to continue refilling and distribution on public holidays.
Meanwhile, NOC is supporting flood rescue operations in hard-hit districts, including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Chitwan. The corporation has provided 120,000 liters of aviation fuel for rescue helicopters stationed at the army barracks in Nuwakot and delivered 575 gas cylinders to temporary shelters in Rasuwa and Nuwakot.
