ShareSansar, May 11:
Investors will be able to trade in their shares at NEPSE from Sunday next week. The stock exchange, which had remained closed since the massive earthquake hit the country on April 25 (Baishakh12), will carry on with its usual trading activities from May 17.
“Nepse will resume from May 17,” said Mr Sitaram Thapaliya, the general manager of NEPSE.
Talking to ShareSansar last week, Mr Thapaliya had given several reasons for the delay in resumption of trading. “The building that houses CDSC has suffered damages and engineers are inspecting the building to see whether it is safe to operate from there,” he said.
Mr Thapaliya had also said that the offices of broker companies and RTS offices have not been able to operate fully as their employees who had left for their home villages after the earthquake have not returned.
