Supermai Hydropower Limited (SMH) has temporarily halted electricity production at its 7.8-megawatt Supermai Hydropower Project after the facility sustained damage due to continuous rainfall, flooding, and landslides in the Mai River area.

According to the company, the heavy rainfall on Ashwin 18, 2082 (October 4, 2025), triggered severe flooding and landslides that affected project infrastructure, forcing a complete shutdown of power generation at around 10:45 PM the same night. Repair and restoration works are currently underway, and the company has assured stakeholders that the plant will resume operations as soon as maintenance is completed.

Supermai Hydropower Limited expressed its commitment to restoring power generation at the earliest possible time and stated that it will notify concerned authorities and stakeholders once the plant is back in operation.
