The COVID-19 crisis is further deepening. The country has been in lockdown since March 24 to stem the virus. Most development activities have been halted. However, some projects under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation have continued works amidst the heightened risk of the crisis.

The country is likely to get the largest substation within coming mid-July. Similarly, the Upper Tamakoshi Project works have been continuing. It is said preventive measures have been taken and social distancing measures maintained while going ahead with the development endeavours.

The construction of Dana (Myagdi) and Kushma (Parbat) sections under the Kaligandaki corridor 220 KV-transmission line has reached neared the final phase, according to Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Executive Director Kulman Ghising. It was possible due to an integrated plan of action between the Ministry and NEA.
